May 2026 Blog Post: Jabun Lost Tracks Vol. 1 fully out on YouTube/Newgrounds, Vol. 2 fully recorded (sneak peek for the $10 patrons), back to mixing the BTTB LIVE Album, Tank Five(?!), lots of Newgrounds features + more!

Hello everyone and hope you're having a great start to May! It's been a busy one over here, trying not to overdo things as I'm still recovering (and sniffling from hay fever) but trying to move forward at my own pace. I took a nice week off for my birthday to go down south and spend some much needed time with family and friends though which was very appreciated and I'm feeling a bit more recharged now (just gotta watch myself)! I received some amazing music related books as gifts amongst other things too! Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book of Bass (which has been a ridiculously detailed delight so far and feels almost as heavy as my doubleneck) + Patch & Tweak with KORG (and due a shipping error with MOOG too) all about semi-modular synthesis! Reading's been keeping me from overworking, but I still managed to make some time to make some music so let's get onto this month's updates!

And with another 2 tracks recorded, Vol. 2 is now fully recorded and just awaiting mixing / mastering and prep for release too! I can confirm it'll be another 8 tracks, and there's still a (final) Vol. 3 to come which according to my current counts will be another 8 tracks as well + 1 bonus one to finish off the collection! Next up on the news, after almost 2 months away from it, just this week I got back to mixing the multitrack recordings taken from Better Than The Book's Ten Years On Debut LIVE show in February! At over 70 minutes long, it's gonna take a while to get through and man oh man there is SO MUCH MIC BLEED, but I'm super pleased and proud of how it's sounding so far! An initial mix has been done for the first quarter of the show + all the in between talky bits, but I know there'll be some extra do-overs once I've done the bulk of the work across the whole show! I'll be doing it in chunks over the next few months I recon and with any luck it'll be out before the end of the year or at least before 11 Years On!

Next on the news and back to Lost Tracks, there's been a tonne of love for the project over on Newgrounds with 4 tracks getting front page features and another being featured in the Tank Tribune (Newgrounds' newspaper)! An older track Rebirth from the June22 EP also got featured for Takeover Tuesday too! Thanks so much for all the love Newgrounds and you can check out all the features for this month below:

That's about it for this month. I'm aiming to get another few tracks mixed for BTTB's live album over the next few weeks, and if possible start going over those Lost Tracks mixes when I have the time and my ears are rested. I do however urgently need to service my Leslie speaker and Marshall amp, and I also got a new bridge for my Jaguar guitar which I'm looking forward to installing, so I'm sure I'll have plenty to do (and need to pace myself)!
