Just a very quick update this time, since I'll been away for the rest of the week and won't be able to post on Saturday.
Firstly, the 2 track jazz-fusion album I mastered for Mihai Sorohan "TWO" has been released! You can check it out here and purchase it from Bandcamp if you'd like to. It was great fun working on this, and I look forward to working with Mihai again! I've also been mastering a 5 track electronic EP for another client this week. Not sure if I have permissions to share it once it's done though (hopefully). If I do, I'll be posting it up soon :3 Finally, it's just one week left until the Dinosaur Sharing Song Fundraiser ends, so feel free to share and donate this week as it'll be the last chance to do so (The campaign ends on Tuesday 28th April at 16:01 BST). Thanks again to everyone who's supported the project so far. Your support really means a lot to me and the rest of the Fun Station 4 Kids team. That's it for this half-week. As mentioned previously I'm away from Wednesday - Sunday this week, so there'll be no Saturday update this week (not that there'll be much to update on XD). The next update will be on Saturday May 2nd. Until then, thanks for supporting JabunAudio and have a great week (I'm pretty sure I will XD) Take care.

Another busy week! Much to tell so let's get to it! :D
Firstly, some awesome news: My track "Home" was featured on the front page of Newgrounds, a great honour! A fair few projects I've been involved with have been front paged previously, but this is the first time one of my solo works has been chosen so it really brings a warm feeling to my heart. Thanks so much to Newgrounds for their support. You guys are awesome! If you haven't yet heard "Home", feel free to listen to it below and share it with your friends :3 Next on the news front, on the request of a prospective Newgrounds client, I've produced a level matched edit of my previous 3 demo reels, so people can hear the adjustments I'm making (not including loudness) more clearly. As with the others demo reels, this can be downloaded for free for your own reference. You can listen to the edited demo reel below:
On the subject of mastering, this week I mastered a lovely 2 track micro-album for Norwegian musician, Mihai Sorohan, who you can check out on Facebook. The genre was jazz fusion which really took me back to my days playing piano in a jazz funk band in my mid-teens. The albums set to be released on Bandcamp soon, and I'll be posting a streaming link up here when it does. Expect that in the coming weeks! Looks like I'll be having some more mastering jobs soon too, so expect more updates soon!
In wake of all this mastering, I've (sort of) added a new page on the website which when finished will provide detailed information on my mastering services. It's still under construction at the moment, though if you're eager to find out more in the mean time please visit this Newgrounds thread for more information: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1387710 Mini update on the new Better Than The Book EP, more lyrics and riffs have been written and it's coming together nicely, though I didn't get as much done this week as I'd hoped (That horrible feeling when you think of some lyrics but they somehow fall out of your head as soon as you find a pen DX)! There's also been some more exciting technical developments which if successful will be AWESOME! No spoilers, but needless to say I am VERY excited :D More updates: it's roughly 10 days until the end of the Dinosaur Sharing Song Kickstarter's funding campaign, but with only 5% of our goal reached so far, it doesn't look hopeful that we'll be successfully funded, which is a shame. The song will undoubtedly be made in due time, but we'd hoped to get it out sooner with the support of our fans. If you know anyone who might find the project of interest, please feel free to share the Kickstarter link with them, and many thanks to the people who have supported the project so far, your help really means a lot to us. That's it for this week's news. I'm away for the second half of next week (Wednesday to Sunday), so there'll be no update next Saturday, but I shall try to post one up on Sunday night or Monday morning. I imagine the first half of next week to be either mastering work, or BTTB EP work. We shall see! In the mean time, thanks for supporting JabunAudio and take care!
If you haven't heard it already, feel free to check out the One Small Step EP on Bandcamp. If you infer over 2 year of constant production practice and life experience, you'll get an idea of what to expect musically and production-wise. I can't tell you how excited I am for this new EP. It's such a great feeling to be writing for myself again! Next, I recently found out that the Newgrounds Audio Portal has an option now to allow for streaming audio without allowing downloads, so I've added streaming link for some of my not-free Bandcamp releases: Home, Distance, Better Than The Book - One Small Step EP, Lights, Camera Attraction! - From The Ground Up EP, and finally, Mr Knife. You can check them out here, and expect new material to be uploaded here as and when I finish it :3 Lastly, and moving onto what to expect for next week, I've been asked to do some mastering work, so I'll be busy with that, but I've also been asked to make volume matched versions of last weeks mastering demos. Expect those demo to be up next week with details on Newgrounds. I won't be uploading them to SoundCloud as I've limited time to work with, but I'll provide links in all the other streams. That's it for this week. Until then please continue to share and support the Dinosaur Kickstarter, as it really means a lot to our team, and as always, thanks for supporting JabunAudio. Take care.
It's been a week and a half since the last update and much has happened since then, so let's get straight to it!
In other news, it's coming to the end of the JabunAudio's first tax year, so I've been doing some marketing adjustments to help set the stage for another year of business growth, and boy has this last year been a good year for growth! To kick off the new tax year, I've put focus into marketing my Audio Mastering and Post-Production Dialogue correction, and it's already started to get some attention (especially the Mastering)!
I'm now offering a set price for Stereo Mastering at $50/£35 per track based on a 5 minute track length, with fair adjustments either way for much shorter/longer tracks (these prices may be subject to change depending on demand). I can also give discounts for albums/EPs. My general philosophy in mastering is to create clean, dynamic and punchy masters which'll make you want to turn the music up rather than down. To find out more about my methods, philosophy and equipment, feel free to check out this Newgrounds Thread (Warning: be prepared for some bad language an unacceptable forum behavior courtesy of some rather unpleasant people... ). I'll likely type up some of the details on this website soon. I also created some demo reels to demonstrate by audio mastering ability. The clips are in pairs, with the first showing the pre-mastered mix, and the second showing the final master. These reels are downloadable for your reference and please feel free to share them with anyone you think would be interested. Hope you enjoy them.
As well as the mastering, this week I've been doing some small Audio Post-Production jobs on the side, mainly dialogue fixing. I'm aiming to market this more soon, though I can't give set prices at the moment since the work is much more varied than mastering. Prices start from around $50/£35, though exact quotes will be given on a case by case basis.
Finally, this week I've done some major updates on the website to incorporate the mastering demo reels and tidy up a little. I aim to add a page for mastering specifically soon, and/or a rates page for pricing though this likely won't be until later this month. Keep your eyes on this space! That's all for this week. I unfortunately didn't have time to work on more Better Than The Book this week, though there was some progress after last week's post. I hope to get back to that soon. Anyways, thanks for supporting JabunAudio and please remember to check out and share the Dinosaur Kickstarter and/or GoFundMe fundraisers, our team needs your support to keep the channel going. Until next week! |
