It's been yet another busy week here at JabunAudio, though I spent the weekend celebrating the 4th anniversary of getting together with my lovely girlfriend Eva which was a nice break from things. The blog post is a little early this week as I'll be travelling at the time I'd usually post this out, and as such there's not a lot to share this time around, just some some updates on projects, and insights on things to come. Let's get started!
Firstly on the news this week, I've been busy working hard and recording guitars and bass for the new World Beyond album which is sounding really great at the moment. There's still some more stuff left to do on my end I'm sure, but I'll be getting back to that after I return from holiday. Next and finally this week, I'm happy to announce my first collaboration with the very talented guitarist and producer Subu Nomo! I've been busy tracking guitars, bass and writing drums for what looks to be a glorious heavy metal track and ode to Black Sabbath, one of my favorite metal bands! Progress this week has been great, though as with the World Beyond album, there'll be more for me to sort out when I get back from holiday. Very excited to share all this music with you soon! And that about wraps things up for this week! I'll be heading off shortly for an exciting few days away including climbing Mount Snowdon in Wales. It's been a while since I last climbed something really tall, so it'll be nice to stretch my legs a bit. I wonder how achy they'll be this time? Anyways, there'll be no blog post next week as I'll not have had any time to do any audio work by the time next Thursday rolls around, but I'll be back in business to reply to any messages and accept more commissions on September 1st. The blog will be back in 2 weeks time, but until then, I hope you all have a great two weeks whatever you're up to and thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio. Hope to share some of this great music soon and take care!

It's been a super busy week here at JabunAudio! The weekend kicked off with mastering a heck of a fun and hard hitting electro house track which I'll hopefully be able to share with you once it's released, then it's been an intense rest of the week recording bass for World Beyond's upcoming album which I must say is sounding kickass as ever! More recording (bass and guitar) left to do, so I shan't spend too long talking today, but on top of the the 2 things above, there's 3 main piece of news to share this week! Let's get started! Firstly I'd like to say a huge thanks to everyone who's supported JabunAudio throughout the years, and I'm super happy to announce that this week we finally reached 100 likes on the JabunAudio Facebook Page! Fun times, and I hope to bring you more and more music in the years to come. It's always great to hear that people are listening. Next this week, another cool achievement as Better Than The Book's Two Years On album was featured on the Oddlythink'n music YouTube Channel! Thanks so much to Brandon for letting BTTB play amongst the great artist you share, and feel free to check out Two Years On on Oddlythink'n below. Finally this week, just a quick announcement, JabunAudio will be closed for a week from August 24th (opening again on September 1st) as I'll be on holiday climbing Mount Snowdon in Wales. Should be fun, should be achy, and should be a nice break! With that, I'll not be taking any commissions during the final week of August or be able to reply to any messages, send files etc..., so if you need anything I'll be back to reply to messages etc... at the beginning of September. Also there will be no blog on the 31st, though I do intend to do one more before I go. Thanks for your patience, and see you then! And that about wraps things up for this week at JabunAudio! I'll be getting straight back to recording for the new World Beyond album this afternoon, so I'm sure it'll be a busy week until my holiday, but I like it like that, and I'm sure there'll be many other things to report next week too. Hope you have a great week, see you in the next blog post and thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and my projects. Take care!
It's been a busy and exciting week at JabunAudio and as usual there's much to share! Along with the main features for this week, I had some time to work on more of the new Better Than The Book album which although going slower than last month is progressing nonetheless. I've finished up 3 lyrics sheets now, with another few well on their way, so it shouldn't be too long until I start the recording process for at least some of these tracks! Exciting times! Lots more to talk about this week so without further wait, let's get straight to the main news!
Firstly, following on from last week's web design adventures, I've done a little more work on the JabunAudio website since the last blog post. I've now added an updated "About" section to the navigation bar above, as well as a revamped version of the old "Partners" page, though since the navigation bar takes up more space than on the old website, I'd decided not to put the Partners page directly on there. Instead there are links to it at the end of the About and Contact pages above. With those 2 pages added, it's just the main services, portfolio and an updated home page left, though I imagine these will take a fair while to set up properly. I also want to add some headers to each page at some point to increase the visual appeal. I'll keep you updated as things progress. Next this week, some more celebrations as "Palindrome" and "Home" from my debut album as Jabun - Daydream were featured on Melody Chillout Music and Premium Music HQ's Facebook and YouTube Channels respectively. Thanks again to both places for helping share my music to more listeners, and if you've yet to hear them, feel free to check out Palindrome, Home and the rest of the Daydream album below. Hope you enjoy it! And speaking of the Daydream album (sort of), on Tuesday this week, it was 808 Day (August 8th), celebrating the Roland TR-808 drum machine, a musical tool which changed music in so many ways since its invention, and my favourite drum machine sound pallet of all time. Linking back to the previous topic, all the main drums on the Daydream album were generated using a software emulation of this magnificent and now very hard to find drum machine, and I'm sure you'll be hard pressed to find a producer who wouldn't want a real TR-808 in their gear arsenal if they haven't already. Well... this year has been an especially exciting 808 day as Roland just announced a compact and faithful digitally modeled re-issue of this classic analog machine with the same sound of the old, but with the modern convenience of the new (like MIDI for one), the TR-08. It's not often I get THIS excited over a new synth or drum machine release but this is something I've been waiting for for a LONG time, and this drum machine has been so important to me as a producer and musician throughout the years! On top of that exciting news though, Roland is also releasing a new sampler and a similar re-issue of their classic SH-101 synth which looks awesome! Exciting times and I can't wait for them to arrive in music shops for me to have play with! Finally, and despite the previous exciting news probably the most exciting, this week I had the pleasure of recording guitar and bass again for the upcoming World Beyond album with my good friend Vladimir Kuznetsov! It feels like a long while since I've recorded with him and as always it's been a great time. No details I can say yet about the album itself or a release date, but I'm pretty sure it'll be out by the end of the year and holy heck I'm looking forward to it! If you haven't heard his stuff before, be sure to check out last years "Mindshell" album (I'm playing guitar on "The Rescue"). Here's a little teaser picture he gave me to share. Get ready for some more amazing music from WB soon! And that about wraps things up for this week! Not entirely sure what next week has in store, but there's the possibility of more guitar recording for the new WB album, more BTTB writing, more website revamping, and some other things in the pipeline. All in all it doesn't look like there'll be time to be bored which is always good! Until then, I hope you all have a great week, thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and the rest of my projects, and see you next time! Take care! It's been a very busy week here at JabunAudio and apologies again for the lack of blog post last week (hope this one makes up for it!). As you may have already noticed, the JabunAudio site is looking a bit different to usual, but we'll get into that a little later! This week's been all about making websites (and a little bit of Better Than The Book and other audio work on the side), so let's get straight into the first bit of news: New websites! So after 5 years releasing music as Jabun and Better Than The Book, this week I finally got around to making an official artist website for each project! They've got everything you'd expect from an artist website: a home page with a newsletter sign-up box and the latest news, discography with streaming embeds and release dates, videos, a press page with links to interviews features and reviews, an about page with some history for each project and myself, and a contact page with links to where to find each project around the vast internet! I've also created a Nick Standing hub website page for links to all my projects, including BTTB, Jabun and of course JabunAudio, as well as a more in depth look into my musical journey. I hope you enjoy exploring each website and learning more about each project and let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see on them! Click on the buttons below to explore each website: Back to JabunAudio and the mysterious new look of this blog, after using this website for many years now, I've decided to give it complete overhaul to clean up some of the messier elements of the old site and bring it up to the same standard as the new websites above. Due to the complexity of the site however, and the fact that I need to keep it accessible and live while the edits are being made, I've chosen to close off sections of the site for the time being to keep it easy to navigate while the edits take place. Since there's a lot of content on this site to sort, it may be some time until the work is all complete, but if you're unable to find the information you need in the mean time, feel free to contact me directly and I'll do my best to help. Just to clarify, JabunAudio is still doing audio work while the website is being renovated, so if you're in need of any audio assistance, don't hesitate to give me a buzz. Again, thanks for your patience while this is all being sorted, and hope to have the website complete soon! One new addition to JabunAudio I'd like to share quickly share however is a brand new logo! Up until now, I've been using my Jabun artist logo as the visual representation of JabunAudio too (which kinda makes sense) but trying to keep a distinction between the two while keeping them linked called for a new logo for my audio production services. As such I'm pleased to present the new JabunAudio logo, a simple variation on the Jabun one, but a distinction nonetheless! Hope you like it! Smashing! Finally this week, a little celebration of achievement as "Morning" and "Distance" from my debut album as Jabun - Daydream were featured on Melody Chillout Music's Facebook and YouTube pages! As well as that, "Anxiety" was shared on Premium Music HQ's Facebook and YouTube pages too. It's always nice to have my work showcased and help spread the word, so a huge thanks to Melody Chillout Music and Premium Music HQ for letting my music play amongst their ranks! If you've yet to listen to Morning, Distance, Anxiety or the Daydream album feel free to check them out on the new Jabun Music website or Bandcamp, and I hope you enjoy them! And that about wraps things up for JabunAudio this week. What in store for the next 7 days? Well I'll be continuing to revamp the JabunAudio website while working on a couple of other little music projects and possibly some more Better Than The Book too. Other than that, we shall have to see where the tide takes us! Anyways, hope you have a great week until next time and thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and my other music projects. See you next week! |
