Hi everyone! It's a little early this week as JabunAudio shuts its door for the winter (until January 9th) at the end of the day, but I hope you're excited as I am for this week's final blog post of 2017! I figured I should take a break to focus on resting up while I'm away so there will be no blog posts until I return, though expect to see an update or two on Facebook in the mean time. It's been yet another busy week (and a productive one at that), getting more of my to do list cleared up before I head off, including some website updates (more on that in a moment), and some Better Than The Book writing (only 3 tracks left to finish now). First of all though this week, it's time for the 7th week of Blink-182 covers to celebrate 4 years with my lovely girlfriend Eva. Let's get started! This week it's an instrumental cover of one of my favorite early Blink-182 tracks, "M+M's"! Not really much to say about it as I seem to say the same thing every week, but I hope you enjoy it, and stay tuned next week for "Wasting Time", although admittedly since there'll be no blog posts during the holidays, I'll be posting the next couple (if not all the rest of them) in the first blog post of the new year. If you can't wait until then (and even if you can), feel free to subscribe to the HurpADervish YouTube channel directly to keep up to date with them all as they come out. Hope you enjoy the cover and see you again for more of these in the new year! Next and lastly for the main news this week, I finally took some more time out to work on fixing up the JabunAudio website! Earlier this year I started a major redesign of the site, but other projects and commitments took me away from completing it as early as I'd hoped. Although it's still incomplete as it is, I've taken the time this week to add in all the previous pages which although unfinished are now accessible and feature a small, "Under Construction" note. These incomplete pages (Home, Services, Portfolio, Music, Videos, Games) have been added to the navigation bar at the top of the website but are denoted with a "*" to let you know that they still require some work. I hope to have them all sorted in the early months of the new year as soon as possible! Onto some more complete updates for the website though, the Sound Effects page which is merely a link to the JabunSamples Pond5 Library is back and up and running, and following the latest interview with Live A Little Bit Louder last week I've also created a JabunAudio Press page (mirror on the Nick Standing HUB website) which features links to all the interviews, awards, and special features I've received with my work. I hope you enjoy exploring it, and here's to hoping that the list gets even longer in 2018! That's all there is to report in this blog post and for the rest of the year here on JabunAudio! Since I head away tomorrow, there'll likely be not much audio news to report in the next blog post (which'll be on Thursday 11th January 2018, after only 2 days of being back), so it'll be an extra special blog post reflecting on the achievements of 2017, setting some new goals for 2018, maybe sharing holiday stories, and of course more cover songs (maybe some other stuff too). Wishing you a very happy holiday from JabunAudio, I hope you all have a great end to 2017, start to 2018 and thank you all so much for another great year supporting JabunAudio and my various projects. Looking forward to getting back to it in 2018 and see you all on Thursday 11th January! Take care!

Hello everyone and hope you've all had a good week! It's been snowing over here, which has been pretty cool and very cold, and it's been a busy week still trying to catch up on everything I'd like to get done before JabunAudio closes up for the winter next Wednesday. Good progress but there's still much to do and time's tickin' so we'll see how it goes! As well as the weekly Blink-182 cover, I'm super excited this week to announce my latest interview with Live A Little Bit Louder about the Jabun - "Daydream" album I released in May, which I can finally share. Fun times, so let's get to those 2 pieces of news in that order: So after 5 weeks of full arrangement covers of Blink-182 songs to celebrate 4 years with my lovely girlfriend Eva, we're back to the start of the series again for a bonus round of instrumental versions of each of the songs! This week it's "First Date [Instrumental]", so sing if you know the words and I hope you enjoy the first of these extra tracks. Next week will be "M+M's [Instrumental]" so feel free to stop on by if early Blink-182 is your jam and without further wait, here's "First Date [Instrumental]". Enjoy! Next and lastly for the main news this week, after lots of anticipation, I'm excited to finally share with you an interview I did with Live A Little Bit Louder about my debut album as Jabun, "Daydream", which was released on May 4th earlier this year (Which reminds me, I gotta see the new Star Wars!)! The interview covers various topics, many of which I've never before discussed such as:
I hope you find it interesting and have as much fun reading it as I did taking part in the interview. If you've yet to listen to "Daydream", feel free to check it out on the Jabun Bandcamp page, or on YouTube via the video below, and of course you can read the full interview with Live A Little Bit Louder, "Jabun's Daydream Comes To Life" via the link below too. Enjoy! CLICK HERE >>> livealittlebitlouder.weebly.com/articles/jabuns-daydream-comes-to-life And that about wraps things up for this week. Next week will be the final JabunAudio blog post before Christmas and possibly for this year depending on how busy things are while I'm away (I should probably take a break anyway...). The coming week will no doubt be another one burning through my to do list before the break, so we'll see how that goes! Until next week though hope you all have a good one, stay warm and thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and my various projects. Take care! Week 5 out of 10 of the Blink-182 covers: "All The Small Things", holiday downtime + more updates!7/12/2017 Happy December everyone, and hope you're all having a great week whatever you're up to! As expected, it's been another busy week going through my to do list, but things are looking mostly on schedule to getting some of these projects out of the way before I leave the studio for the holidays. Speaking of which: Holiday downtime! JabunAudio will be closed for the winter break from: Wednesday 20th December 2017 through to Tuesday 9th January 2018, during which I will be unable to carry out any audio work. Any communications during this period may also receive delayed responses, though feel free to message me and I'll get to any messages as and when I can (if not by Tuesday 9th January). Apologies in advance for any inconvenience over those few weeks, and I look forward to working with you when I get back! Onto the news for this week, not much else I can report, but I have one last Blink-182 cover to share with you before we get into the instrumental versions over the next 5 weeks. Let's get to it! As I'm sure you're all aware by now, we're on week 5 out of 10 for the Blink-182 covers to celebrate 4 years with my girlfriend Eva, and this week, I present a cover of Blink-182's probably most famous song "All The Small Things". This one was especially fun to do with the extra piano and synths embellishing the traditional punk arrangement as well as lots of layers of guitars and vocals. Certainly a more mammoth mixing session than any of the other covers on the project, and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did making it. Here's "All The Small Things": And with this one, that marks the Blink-182 covers EP stream completed! I hope you enjoyed it all, and I look forward to putting up more covers (and music in general) in the near future! Next week we're going back to "First Date" to start an instrumental run of each of the songs from the EP over the next 5 weeks, so feel free to stick around for that if you're interested, sing along and whatnot and I hope you enjoy those too. That about wraps things up for this week. More of the same thing next week, so I shan't bore you again with details (I'm excited at least!), and I hope you all have a great week whatever you're up to. Thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and my various projects and looking forward to chiming in next week with the first of the instrumental Blink-182 covers. Until then, take care and see you all soon! |
