Early update this week as I'm away for an extended weekend for fun times and hopefully seeing the only total lunar eclipse visible from around these parts in the next few years! Should be fun, but anyway, lets get started :D First on this weeks agenda, we look to World Beyond for a super cool announcement! World Beyond founder and a great collaborator and friend of mine Vladimir Kuznetsov this week re-released his debut album "Winter Legend" (originally only available on Bandcamp) on all major digital retailers, including iTunes and Amazon as well as many more! The album features epic orchestral cinematic music including "Everything We Stand For" for which I'm playing guitar. Feel free to check out the album and read Vlad's own words about the release over on the World Beyond Blog, and check out "Everything We Stand For" (now with a cool animated background!) on YouTube below! We hope you enjoy it: Next on the agenda are some more updates on the new Better Than The Book Album! This week has mainly been sorting out collaboration recording with Bob Axell for Track 07 which is going nice and smoothly! A lot of the Lead Vocal recordings are done (and sound sweeeeet!), though we've still a little fine tuning to do for some sections and backing vocals to plan and record. Sounding great though and should be done very soon! As well as that, I've been finishing off adding extra bits and pieces to the other recordings where necessary. Lots of strange guitar noises like pick-scrapes and dive-bombs for added impact, and sorting out the transitions between tracks. That makes 8/9 tracks fully recorded, with 5/9 having their transitions sorted too. I don't know whether it feels like there's still a lot to do or not? Still gotta mix it all which will no doubt take some time. I'm looking forward to working more on this collaboration in the mean time!
Finally, just a little strange thing that's happened: It appears that the speedy version of "A Very Useful T-Rex" has actually EXCEEDED the view count of the normal speed version! I guess T-Rex's fast level at normal speed wasn't fast enough for most folk XD Crazy times! That's it for this week. I didn't manage to get around to those web updates, so that's still on the to-do list for next week. Hopefully most of Bob's vocals should be done by the end of next week too, which means it'll be my time to shine for doing the rest of the instrumental work for Track 07 soon (+ my own vocals). Kinda want to get that sorted before I start mixing the other tracks just so that I can mix them all at the same time. Anyways that certainly sounds like a plan for next week! Whether it all happens, we'll have to wait and see. Until then, thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and take care!

It's been a quiet week trying to sort some things out, so there's not a lot to report work-wise, just some (Pretty significant) updates on the new BTTB album. Lets get started.
Lots of progress this week on the album! Now 7/9 tracks are all recorded and in the mixing/production stage. Just 2 more tracks to finish recording (including the collaborative track with Bob Axell), then just the intro of the album and track transitions to do. Effectively, making the songs is almost done, then it's onto making it into an album! Collaborative recording is due to happen soon though so hopefully all the recording should be finished by mid October. Almost on the home stretch! Definitely on target for release by the end of the year at the moment! Getting super psyched to share it with the world! That's really about it this week! Next week's update may be similarly sparse, though I'm gonna try for some site updates (which are long overdue) and to get the non-collaborative BTTB track into the mixing/production stage too. That's the plan anyway. We shall see! Until then, hope you have good weeks and thanks for supporting JabunAudio :D Pretty crazy week! Again, I wasn't too well for a lot of it, but I exchanged my sore throat for some seriously itchy eyes, so at least I could sing XD All better now hopefully (touch wood). Let's get started with a slightly early weekly update! Firstly! This week marks one whole year of the JabunAudio news blog (what you're reading right now)! It's crazy to think it's been that long and looking back at all the exciting stuff that's happened in the past year makes me smile. Thanks soo much to everyone who's been reading, collaborating and showing their support this past year! Let's make the next 12 months even better than the last! On the topic of collaboration, Fun Station 4 Kids has finished yet another T-Rex story animation "A Very Useful T-Rex"! This one was a crazy amount of fun, as this time I'm narrating the story as well as doing my usual audio duties! It's parody, its colourful and it's got some awesome 3d modelling, something reasonably new for FS4Ks! Big well done to Anthony (the writer and animator and most of the voices) for his great accents and visuals! On top of the really nice comments we've received so far, "A Very Useful T-Rex" also received the Daily 3rd place award and a front page feature on Newgrounds, a crazy and unexpected achievement! We'll have to upload there more often XD If you've yet to see the animation, please feel free to check it out below! We hope you enjoy it XD Or if you don't have time to sit through the whole 3:46, why not check it out at twice the speed instead XD Perhaps it's just me, but I find this waaaaay more amusing than I probably should! Feel free to check it out below: T-Rex will be returning for a new adventure at some point (I've been reading scripts and they're GOLD!), though due to work constraints and the craziness that is life, it'll likely be a little longer wait than before. Nevertheless we'll be making our best effort to deliver more content as soon as we can :D
Onto the other happenings this week, more progress was made on the new Better Than The Book Album! The final guitar solo (recorded on my homemade double-neck guitar) was recorded, which means all the guitars are finished! (If your wondering, bass was finished aaaaaages ago XD) I also managed to get the rest of the sung backing vocals finished too which means all that's left to record is the rap vocals in track 07! Lots to sort out with that though with Bob Axell (Cyberdevil), so that might have to wait a while. In the mean time, all that's left is filling in the sonic space with keyboards, or any extras as necessary and checking/sorting the recordings prior to mixing! Hopefully that shouldn't take too long, though we shall see! Totaling up, looks like the album should have a run-time of about 30 minutes too, over twice as long as the One Small Step EP. Hope you're getting as psyched as I am, I can't wait for people to hear it! That's it for this week! More BTTB for next week I think (trying to get as many songs to the mixing stage as I can and fill in the sonic gaps in the arrangements, which in theory should be all of them apart form track 07), should be busy! Until next week, thanks so much again for supporting JabunAudio and keeping this news feed and adventure alive for a whole year now! Hope you enjoy T-Rex's new adventure and take care :D Not the best of weeks, as I've been pretty unwell, but still things to tell and progress made so can't complain too much XD On to it!
Firstly, following last week's amazing milestone for The 3 Little Raptors, Fun Station 4 Kids' first animation (and the first animation I was involved with), The Dinosaur Alphabet, reached a whopping 6,000,000 views! On top of that, the Fun Station 4 Kids YouTube Channel, last week surpassed an even crazier total of 10 MILLION views! A massive congratulations to our team for this amazing achievement, especially the amazing Anthony, the mastermind behind it all and voice of the one and only TRex! Head over to the channel and show him your love in the video comments, or by subscribing to the channel if you haven't already :D This week, we've been busy on the latest of TRex's adventures and the audio is now finished and ready to go! Just a little more animation left and the new adventure should be out in the next few weeks :D Hope you're all as psyched as I am! Onto the other side of this week, I've been doing more work towards the new Better Than The Book album, though unfortunately due to illness, I've been unable to finish the backing vocals as I'd hoped. No idea what happened but I woke up one day with a swollen and rough throat and ear very little voice + some other things ._____. It's starting to clear up now after a week of daily honey and lime and gargling salt water, though I'm still not back to peak health. Vocals will have to wait for a while. However, it's not just bad news to tell! This week, I recorded 2 more guitar solos (so 1 more left) and did a lot of sorting recording sessions, so now 4/9 of the tracks are in the mixing/production stage with the rest not too far behind! Progress will no doubt speed up once my voice is back in shape, but in the mean time, there's more sorting I can do, and that last guitar solo to record so I can keep as busy as I need to! Soon my friends soon (I hope)! That's about it for this week! On another note, the new Iron Maiden Album, The Book of Souls was incredible (I'm listening as I type this)!!! Well done guys, still on top form! Boy I miss being in a metal band! At least I've an outlet for ripping solos in the mean time XD What's in store next week? Depends on my health I guess? We shall see! Until then, hope you all have good weeks and as always, thanks for supporting JabunAudio! Take care :D |
