Just a quick one: Bye bye Bamboo Forest, moving this weekend, downtime + another video "Morning"16/5/2017 Just a very quick update this week as I've mainly just been packing up and preparing for the move this coming weekend, so there's really not much to share and tell. Exciting times though! Also, due to the time it'll take to set up the new studio, there'll be some downtime for a few weeks where I'll be unable to carry out any audio work, but I aim to be up and running again by the start of June. Unfortunately since I can't be certain when the internet will be sorted, I may not be able to do the blog posts or keep up with messages over the next week or so too so apologies for the inconvenience and please bear with me while it all gets sorted. I'll back soon! Anyways, with all that maintenance and moving stuff out of the way, there is one thing I'd like to share with you this week: the next video in the Jabun - Daydream series: Morning! Again I'd like to extend a big thanks to Vlad from World Beyond for editing the lovely visuals for this and I hope you enjoy the sights and sounds this week and for the next few months as we journey through the album together. You can find Jabun - Daydream on Bandcamp, iTunes and more. Enjoy! And that's about it for this week and it's the final blog post from this studio (The Bamboo Forest) too! It's been an awesome time in this little studio, with a lot of great memories. Sad to leave it behind, but it was always going to be the way and I look forward to the exciting challenge of setting up the new studio over the next couple of weeks! There may or may not be a blog post next week depending on when the internet is up and running again, but feel free to keep up with the news on the JabunAudio Facebook page if you so wish. With that I'll bid you goodbye for this week and thanks so much as always for supporting JabunAudio and my projects whether you've been there since before the start or a new supporter, it means a lot to me. I'll leave you this week with a snapshot of the Bamboo Forest, and I hope you all have a great time until I'm back in business. Many thanks, take care and speak to you all soon! ![]() ^^^ JabunAudio 2.1: "The Bamboo Forest"

It's been a fairly busy week winding down work as JabunAudio has confirmed and set the moving date for May 20th! Less than 10 days left which means I'll unfortunately have to close commissions while I pack away the studio, and that JabunAudio will be closed for most audio work until the new studio is set up. Hoping to have everything sorted to start up again for the start of June, though I'll keep you all updated with how that goes. Not a whole lot to report this week, and I imagine the next few weeks will be similar, but there's still a little bit to show and tell. Let's get to it! Firstly (and mainly this week), the beginning of the week was spent finishing off the admin work for the new Jabun album, Daydream, and I'm pleased to announce that the full album is now available for track by track streaming (and reviewing) on Newgrounds! Feel free to explore the playlist here and leave some comments if you wish. Unfortunately, Daydream did not make the cut for Pandora Radio which is a real shame (especially since they gave no reason for the rejection), but after reading more about other people's experiences it seems like they're just REALLY picky on what they add, even rejecting some top charting artists. If anything, while it's quite the disappointment for Jabun, it feels more like a compliment that Better Than The Book actually made it onto their list, so there's that to be thankful for at least! To close the Jabun news for this week, my good friend and co-worker Vladimir Kuznetsov of World Beyond, kindly edited some videos for YouTube with enhanced visuals to accompany each track of the album. These videos will be released weekly on Thursdays on the HurpADervish YouTube Channel with the first arriving today! A huge thank you to Vlad for all his help on these and feel free to explore the World Beyond Blog for his thoughts on the album too. Hope you enjoy the video, and stay tuned weekly for the rest of the album. And remember that you can find Jabun - Daydream on Bandcamp (with bonuses), iTunes and more if you'd like to pick up a copy. Many thanks! Next and lastly this week, just a couple of small updates. Between admin work and tying up loose ends before the move, I've again this week been working on a little more Better Than The Book which is going well, though I'm reminded of the anxiety I felt at the beginning of Two Years On's production with that feeling of "S**T, I've gotta somehow outdo the last album/EP?!" Hehehe! After a year and a half break from the project, I think it's going to take a little warming into to get the ska-punk vibes flowing again, but I'm very much looking forward to sharing more music with you all soon! As well as some BTTB, I finally took the time this week to put together a new mastering demo reel too which I'll release once the new studio is set up (instead of releasing it now and having to turn clients away immediately). It was a tough pick curating this demo reel as I've produced and mastered so much music since the last one, so this new 2017 demo reel will feature some track from Two Years On, Daydream and more, demonstrating the subtle but powerful nature of the mastering art. Hope you enjoy it when it's released and if you're in need of any audio mastering, you know where to find me! I'll be aiming to release the new demo reel at the start of June. And that's about it for this week. As mentioned previously the next few weeks are set to be fairly quiet but busy due to the move, packing up and setting up of the old and new studios respectively, but I'll still be aiming to chime in with the weekly blog post to keep you all updated and at least share the latest video from the Daydream album. Busy times ahead! Anyways, hope you enjoy the new video (and the album if you've yet to hear it), and thank you as always for supporting JabunAudio and the rest of my projects. Hope you have a great week, and take care until the next post!
It's been a fantastic week here at JabunAudio as my debut electronic album "Daydream" was released to the world on Thursday! Not only that, but in between all the admin mumbo-jumbo which comes with the release, I've fired up the recording equipment again to start gathering ideas and experiment for a new Better Than The Book album! Lots of cool things to share this week, so let's get started!
Firstly and the biggest news of this week, as I'm sure you all know my debut album as Jabun - Daydream was released to the world on Thursday! It's been a long while in the making and with over 5 years of producing music as Jabun, I'd say it's well overdue too! So far the album's been well received, with some lovely comments online and lots of support. Thanks so much for everyone's help and support over my entire music career as Jabun. It's all lead up to this moment, and I'm sure this'll just be a stepping stone towards even more spectacular things to come! With regards the album release itself, you can currently find Daydream on Bandcamp (the download of which includes bonus artwork), iTunes (just search for Jabun), as well as stream it on YouTube (Full album only) and SoundCloud! A full track by track playlist should be up on Newgrounds by the end of the weekend + a track by track stream will be uploaded over the next 10 weeks each Thursday on the Jabun and HurpADervish YouTube Channels. On top of that, the album is currently awaiting approval on Pandora and the Dozmia App for streaming too which should hopefully be sorted soon. I'll keep you all updated with progress. Once again, I'd like to say a huge thanks to everyone's who's supported my music over the last few years and earlier. I'm so happy to finally be able to share these tracks which I've pour my heart into and I hope you enjoy these little glimpses of emotion and the step into my mind for just a day. For the full experience, feel free to read through the credits and album notes on Bandcamp, and without further wait I present to you Daydream. Next and lastly this week, while I've still got a fair few bits of admin to do for the new album, after 3 weeks away from the studio I was itching to get some more recording done and so this week, I spent my spare time recording and gathering together the ideas to finally start work on a new Better Than The Book album! Crazy to think that Two Years On was released 15 months ago and I've not done any BTTB recording since (apart from capturing ideas on my phone's recording and note taking apps). Well that changed this week and I'm super happy with the current results. Info on the album so far: I'm planning for another 30-40 minute album with 10+ songs, aiming to release Summer 2018. So far I've gathered the bare ideas for 8/10 of those tracks with a whole lot more I can play with from all the jam sessions over the last 15 months. No idea of a title for the album just yet, although I can reveal that this week I was working on writing songs with working titles: "And I fear", "Meteor Hammer", "Hopes and Dreams", and "GG [Vocal version]"! Hope you're excited to hear more ska punk from me soon and I'm looking forward to recording and sharing these with you in the not too distant (hopefully) future! Get ready! And that's about it for this week! What's next for Jabun? Well this coming week I aim to get all the main admin stuff finished off for the album, and possibly do some more idea gathering / recording for Better Than Than Book, but it looks like JabunAudio will be moving in 2 week's time, so there's a lot to sort out for that too: tying up loose ends + packing before the move, etc... so it looks like while it may not be an audio heavy few weeks, it'll no doubt be very busy! In any case, I hope you enjoy Daydream, hope you all have a great week, and thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and all my projects. Take care until next blog post and speak to you soon! |
