Hope you didn't miss me last week! It's been a fortnight since the last post so lets get cracking with the news! Firstly, Fun Station 4 Kids hit another amazing milestone last week as "The 3 Little Raptors & the Big Bad Tyrannosaurus Rex" reached 2 MILLION VIEWS! 3LR holds a special place in my heart as the first storytelling animation I did the audio post production for! A big congratulations to the whole team on this wondrous achievement! Feel free to check out "The 3 Little Raptors & the Big Bad Tyrannosaurus Rex" below and show Fun Station 4 Kids your love :D Next, and still on the topic of Fun Station 4 Kids, we've started work on our next animation, which as usual I'll be doing the audio post production for. HOWEVER! This time I'll also be narrating the story(?!?!), so be prepare to hear me not singing for once XD I shan't give any spoilers, but lets say, you'll likely be seeing a familiar setting and characters, but not how you expect them ;P Should be out in the next few weeks / month so keep your eyes on this space and the FS4Ks YouTube Channel! It's gonna be a fun one XD
Onto the main goings on for this week, all the sung lead vocals for the new Better Than The Book Album are finally recorded! Most of the backing vocals are done too, though there's still a few things left to record. After that it's just a 3 guitar solos, some rap vocals from myself and Bob Axell (Cyberdevil) for track 07, then just a few extra things and then it's onto mixing! Not sure if it sounds like a lot or not, but feels like I'm getting towards the home stretch! Still no eta for release, but I'll be working my butt off to get it out as soon as I can. Hope you guys are as psyched as I am! Lastly, it's not audio related news, but there's something close to my heart that I wish to share. It's also kind of the reason there was no update last week too so I hope you consider it a good excuse XD. The week before last week, my girlfriend Eva and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary together! Wooo! It's been such an amazing 2 years and soo much has happened, it feels like a lifetime ago since we got together! I just wanted to say to the whole world how much Eva means to me and that I love her SOOOOO MUCH! I love you Eva <3 Let this be only the 2nd of many great years for us to share together :3 That's it for this week :D Who knows what next week has in store? Probably more BTTB stuff? We shall see! Until then, have a great week and I'll be back next Saturday! As always, thanks for reading and supporting JabunAudio and take care until next time :D

GG [Good Game] on Bandcamp, Seven Spots by Eamon Standing (My Bro) + Lots of BTTB Vocals + more!15/8/2015
Most of this week was spent busting vocal chords, but other stuff happened too! Lets get started!
Firstly, last week's track "GG [Good Game]" by Better Than The Book & Jabun is now available on Bandcamp for download in a variety of formats! Unfortunately, no prizes were won this time from the competition it was entered in, but I had great fun making it and so far it seems to have been well received. Feel free to listen to GG below and if you really enjoy it, please feel free to download it from Bandcamp for the low low price of 60p :3 Every donation is much appreciated. Hope you enjoy it!
Next, as promised since the competition is over, below is my twin brother's entry for the same remix competition, which I helped record and did the mixing and mastering for. A little backstory. This was recorded, mixed and mastered in the final less than 3 hours leading up to the deadline for the competition and was being uploaded to SoundCloud in the final 5 minutes. No time to think, but more importantly, no time to overthink and I'm pleased with the way it turned out. I won't try to explain what the song is about... but I hope you enjoy it :D
Lastly on this weeks events, I've finally got my groove back for recording vocals, and this week has been very successful in getting stuff done! Over half of the lead and a lot of backing vocals are done, and another guitar solo was recorded, which means there's only 3 left to go! It's reaching the home stretch in terms of recording which means it'll soon be time for mixing and other audio engineering! I'll keep you all posted on progress :D
That's it for this week. Next week I'm away from tomorrow until Friday, sooo there probably won't be any major updates to report. Nevertheless, I do plan on a usual Saturday update, so expect some news next week, even if it's to say "There is no news" XD Thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and I hope you enjoy the new tracks and have good weeks of your own! Take care :D
What a crazy week, and most of it was in the last 2 days! Lots to talk about so lets get started!
Against the order of the title but the first thing to happen this week chronologically, Fun Station 4 Kids has a new Dinosaur animation, which I did the sound design and mixing/mastering for! The new animation features Baby T-Rex, Mini, Ptero and of course the one and only T-Rex, in a riverside lesson about (2D) shapes! The video's already hit over 2000 views on YouTube in its first week, so things are going pretty well! Feel free to watch the video below, and prepare for some intense and colourful knowledge courtesy of Fun Station 4 Kids! Hope you enjoy it :D
Next on the list of what happened this week: There's a new Better Than The Book & Jabun Collaborative track! Is it even possible to collaborate with yourself? Who knows, but this was a complete mishmash of my 2 main musical personalities so it seemed appropriate! A little backstory: my brother sent me over a remix competition with only 2 days until the deadline, and I was thinking, yeah, I fancy the creative break, I haven't done a remix in a while! The competition provided stems to use as you'd like (as long as you do use at least one of them XD), and since I've been working intensely on BTTB, my music brain was (is) still in Pop-punk mode, so the result is the Pop-punk / Chip-tune / Electronic tune: "GG [Good Game]". All of this was written, recorded, mixed, mastered and drawn in less than 36 hours, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out! Feel free to listen to GG below and I hope you enjoy it!
Just for clarification, the above track isn't anything to do with the new BTTB album, it's just a standalone single :3 I'm planning to make it available for download from the BTTB Bandcamp page soon, but that'll be once the competition results have been announced (so probably next week or the next one). I'll announce it in the next appropriate weekly update :3 I also helped my brother with his entry to the competition (recording, mixing and mastering), which has an even crazier origin story, but I'll share that here once the competition result have been announced. Again that'll hopefully be in the next update or the one after that :D
Next, for those wondering why I only used 36 hours of the 2 days available to make GG, on top of helping my bro with his entry in the hours leading up to the competition closing, I had some mastering to do in the morning of the first day. It was another jazz(?) track from Norway, mixed by Mihai Sorohan (The man behind the "TWO" micro-album from a few months back). This track is by Lage Thune, who is drumming on the track. It's cool and experimental! Feel free to listen below and show Mihai and Lage your support :D
Now that covers last weekend + Friday and Saturday of this week! Monday, Tuesday and Thursday were spend doing the usual voice-over work in London, and Wednesday was spent working on other things (Eva (my GF)'s anniversary present and card :D). Not much time for working on the Better Than The Book Album unfortunately, though I hope GG [Good Game] will be enough to tickle your BTTB (& Jabun) taste-buds until it's finished! No London next week (back in 2 weeks), but I'll be busy tying up loose ends before I head off with Eva to spend our 2nd anniversary together in a few days time :D Hopefully I'll have some time to do some Better Than The Book vocals before then. Also, the next Fun Station 4 Kids animation is already in the works too, and I've a voice audition to prepare for some British characters, which should be fun XD It's set to look like a busy week again!
That's it for this week! Next update should be on Saturday as usual, though probably won't be as filled as this one XD. Hope you all have a good week, enjoy the new tracks and as always, thanks for reading and supporting JabunAudio! |
