Another busy week and I haven't had time to update the website as I'd have liked to, but the new A P O T H E O S I S game music demos are up on Soundcloud now so you're able to listen to them. The first is the main Boss Theme, and the next is the Post-Victory music which plays after you've defeated the boss and before you move onto the next world/level. Enjoy! As far as I know, I've a free day on Monday, so I'll aim to get the Jabun Audio website all up to date then and upload YouTube streams for these demos to my HurpADervish Channel. Next point of call will probably be the Victory and Game-over themes I think, then the Final Boss theme? Who knows? No updates for Tales of Zale this week, but the Nubits animation is going well with the music pretty much sorted, and a good deal of the animation work done. I was also sent the finished line work for a Pokemon animation I did the music for which looked awesome! Still no ETA on that, but I'll post updates as and when.
Finally, it looks like the blog has had it's first (probably automated) spam comment, which I guess is a compliment? Still, I'd prefer if comments are kept vaguely relevant and will remove any which are clearly bots and/or unrelated advertisements. The aim for next week is to get the site up to date and continue with the current animation work. Hope you enjoy the A P O T H E O S I S music and until next time, have a great week :D

Apologies for the late update. It's been a turbo busy week, so much so that it's been super productive, but I've not had time to actually upload any of the new content / update the site properly. Here's the rundown: First of all, "Everything We Stand For", a piece I worked on with World Beyond, was featured in an inspirational video by Henrik Montgomery from Gothenburg, Sweden. The video aims to raise awareness of a new supported employment method. For more details, please read the World Beyond blog entry here. For non-native readers, there is an English transcript of the text provided below this video. "Our society is full of competence, full of people who want to work, people who could contribute to development, to our community but never get the chance. How long should they have to wait? How many resumés should they have to write? When will be their turn to take part in the creation of our future? We work to give everyone a meaningful life, a place to go to contribute and to grow".
In other news, Scene 3 of Tales of Zale has been approved by Hikarian, so now we're just playing the waiting game for some voice takes, sound effects, etc... before continuing production. I'll post updates as and when. The NuBits animation is coming along, with scenes 1 & 2 (of 7) fully animated now. I'm in the process of discussing music and sound effects with the director at the moment before we start setting things in stone. Next, this week I finished the Boss and Post-Victory themes for Lars Warink's A P O T H E O S I S game! I'm ready to upload demos of them for streaming, though I didn't get a chance to do that this week... I hope to get them both out (on SoundCloud at least) sometime in the next few weeks, even if I don't have a chance to update the site. I've also been set the next 3 briefs for tracks: Victory, Game-Over and Final Boss themes, so I'll likely begin work on those soon. It's certainly coming on! Finally, I want to say a big thank you to everyone for their support as the Jabun Audio Facebook Page has surpassed 50 likes! Many thanks for listening and sharing! That's everything for this week. It's set to be a busy couple of weeks leading up to Christmas, but I'll be trying to keep the site up to date with the new media as it comes out. Expect streaming links for more stuff very soon! This week has mainly been working on the site adding the Partners tab. The Jabun Audio Partners section aims to display the awesome collaborative peeps I work with regularly, and give Jabun Audio fans a chance to find out more about them and what services/media they have to offer. The section isn't quite yet complete though (or should I say up to date) as I've still some more people to add.
This week, I re-introduce: Vladimir Kuznetsov, a talented Russian composer and musician and the founder of the World Beyond Project; Lars Warink, an awesome indie game programmer and creator of Skyreef and A P O T H E O S I S; Sheila M. Gagne, the one and only Voice-Over artist and voice of Tiny Raptor, Cabin Boy, Pirette and Parrot from the Fun Station 4 Kidz animations; and David Klein II, a game designer, code wizard and an Associate QA Tester at Deep Silver Volition (Saints Row IV, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell). More awesomely talented people to come! In other website updates, the blog section is now called News! What's up with that? With regards other updates, this week I've been busy working on scene 3 of Tales of Zale by Danish animator Hikarian. I think it's done now and I'm just waiting on a second round of feedback. NuBits is still waiting on final edits on voice work, but it's progressing well. I've also heard a sneak peek of voices for the new Fun Station 4 Kidz Dino Animation too (courtesy of Sheila M. Gagne and Evan Bremer) and I have to say it's sounding AWESOME!!!! That's it for this week. No new media, but some progress methinks :D It's been a crazy busy week, one of those where it seems like everything's suddenly come together all at the same time! I'm sure this makes up for the last two slightly slower weeks, and maybe a few of the slower ones in the future too! First on the releases, we have an amazing music video from World Beyond, a Dragon Age: Inquisition inspired composition: "Whatever We Were Before feat. Nicholas Standing". At the end of Summer, Vlad, founder of World Beyond and a long term collaborator of mine asked me to shake the dust off my cello, set up a video camera and microphone and bow out some cello licks for him. After sending over the recorded audio and video, he got to work composing the rest of the piece and churned out this mind blowing music video! Many thanks to Vlad for having me on this awesome project, you rock big time! The track is free to download here where you can read Vlad's own blog on the video. Please show him some love for this great project! Next we have a project from the lovely Sheila M. Gagne, a Voice-over Artist friend and collaborator who I've worked with a fair amount during the Fun Station 4 Kidz Projects. A while back, she contacted me with regards doing a cover of "I Can Talk" from the 1973 Charlotte's Web animated film. The only trouble was, she couldn't find an instrumental version of the song anywhere, and so I arranged the instrumental by ear, matching as closely as possible to the exact free timings of the original. After recording her voice parts (with a little pinch of Solrac's voice thrown in), she sent it back to me for editing and mixdown, and the result is the song you can hear below! Send Sheila some love too! If you're interested, I've also posted up the instrumental version of the song, as I had arranged before adding in the voices. You can find it here on my HurpADervish YouTube Channel. Finally on the new media front, we have the music for Level 1 of the A P O T H E O S I S Game by Lars Warink. I finished composing and mixing this on Wednesday, and it looks like I have 8 tracks left to do. What's next? A Game Over Theme? Boss Theme? Who knows!!! I hope you enjoy it and please follow the games progress on Tumblr. You know the drill: Show Lars some love over there! If you haven't yet heard the menu music for the game, please feel free to check it out here. Whoo! A fair haul for media output this week! In other updates and news, we only have a couple of vocal lines left to get approved for the NuBits animation, so I should be starting work on that very soon. I've also been sent the script for a new Dinosaur Animation with Fun Station 4 Kidz which although we have no ETA for, should be a blast! Finally, World Beyond has a new store outlet for track licencing including some of our collaborative work. You can find it here. I really need to set up a store for some of my pieces soon. Current future plans: I hope to have a store up for licencing my own music soon (without needing to contact me directly), as well as a new section of the website dedicated to my awesome collaborators and media creating friends. Just waiting for some more details from people. I've also been toying with the idea of starting a second blog for pro-audio tips and tricks. Anyone interested? There're still some more animations to come out too. More news on those as and when. That's all for this busy week! I hope to be working on animations and more A P O T H E O S I S music next week. Until next Saturday (and I realise I'm early this week), have fun and keep smiling! Just another quick update this week. The draft mix for scene 1 of Tales of Zale is complete and was well received by the animator and director, Hikarian. We're waiting for the final music to be finished for that scene, then it should be pretty much done. Animation for the entire episode is at roughly 85%, then it'll be adding the sound effects and mixing it all down. No estimated release date at the moment, but I'll update details as and when they come.
In other news, the voiceover has been recorded for another Cyptocurrency animation with the creative team behind Fun Station 4 Kidz. We're just waiting for approval from the NuBits manager, then I'll be starting on mixing and creating sound effects. Finally, I've been working on another piece for Apotheosis this week. It's coming on, though there's still much to do. I hope to have a demo for that out within the next few weeks. That's everything at the moment. Hope everyone had a cool Halloween and that the Brits among you have a great Guy Fawkes night next week. See you next Saturday! |
