No update this Saturday as I'm away from the studio, but hopefully this early update makes up for it XD. Not sure what's going on next week, but we'll see. FINALLY I can talk to you about the secret I've been keeping for the last month(ish)! What a load off the mind. Lets get started! The big announcement is that Fun Station 4 Kids is launching its first Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign for a new animated music video and hopefully a corresponding children's book (depending on how much is raised)! For those of you not familiar us, Fun Station 4 Kids is an awesome YouTube channel which creates fun and educational cartoons for children, such as The Dinosaur Alphabet and The Three Little Raptors, and for which I often help with the music and audio post-production. We already have over 5 million views since the whole thing was started in Summer 2013, and would love to bring our fan-base more content and joy! The song/video which the Kickstarter will be funding is about sharing and will feature TRex and his family! We have on the project our usual mastermind and animator Anthony, the great duo of voice actors Sheila and Evan, and of course myself doing the audio post-production and music (a total of 4 of us). As the animators especially among you know, these kind of projects take a whole lot of time, especially when you're working from different time-zones/continents and in small teams where 1 person could be doing the jobs of 5+ people in a professional studio. If we had $1 for every view, that'd be great, but unfortunately that's not quite how it works, and ad revenue alone doesn't nearly begin to equate to the time put into these things (especially with all the ad-blocking apps people are using). We make these animations for the people watching, and to inspire people, but we need help to keep it going. The Kickstarter campaign is set to commence on March 24th (this coming Tuesday) and above are the first two of the promotional posters to give you a taste of what it'll look like! If you like the project, it'd mean the world to me and the other team members if you'd take a moment next week when the campaign starts to spread and share the Kickstarter link to as many people as you can. Tweet it, email it, blog it, Facebook it, any little help would be greatly appreciated and as they say "Sharing is Caring". I'll be sharing the Kickstarter link on the JabunAudio Facebook as soon as it comes out, as well as posting another blog entry here with more details on Wednesday 25th. Stay tuned to the facebook page for more updates (and posters) in the mean time :3 Massive thanks to everyone who's supported the project so far and is helping to spread the word. You guys are awesome! In other news, Fun Station 4 Kids has a new website, which you can visit here. As well as links to our animations, there are also fun things like activity sheets which you can download there, so it's well worth a visit :D Another awesome thing for this week: I finally started working on a follow-up to the Better Than The Book - One Small Step EP! No ETA as of yet, but I've got a 9 track Album(EP?/LP?) planned, and have started brainstorming riffs and getting song ideas together. I hope to have it released before the end of the year, though it depends on work as to when I'll be able to finish it. Hopefully sooner rather than later, as it's been way too long and I'm turbo excited to be recording my own music again! In the mean time, Feel free to check out the One Small Step EP and Heartbeats cover (The Knife), and get ready for some more ska-pop-punky anthems straight from the heart! That's it news-wise for this week. There'll be no update next Saturday since I'm away from the studio, but I'll be posting an update with the Kickstarter links this coming Wednesday instead! So hopefully that makes up for it XD Until then, thanks so much for sharing our Kickstarter campaign and supporting Fun Station 4 Kids, and JabunAudio! Take care world :D It's almost time for a BIG announcement! But... + Another little flashback from World Beyond14/3/2015 Lots has been happening this week as I work on stuff for Fun Station 4 Kidz, BUT I still can't give any details due to keeping it a surprise. GAAAAARRR! HOWEVER! We will be making a BIG announcement soon (if all goes to plan, sometimes next week), so steady your horses and brace yourselves. It's just over the horizon. Many thanks for your continued patience. In other news, this week has given yet another exciting blast from the past, as the first ever track I did with World Beyond, "Mountains of Gold", was featured in the arcade game "#Run3rd" by Armor Games. You can play the game on Newgrounds by clicking here and read more about it from Vlad on the World Beyond Blog. "Mountains of Gold" is available for free use in non-commercial works and available for commercial licensing as well. Please see the World Beyond Site for details. Not much else to report this week. There's a possibility of doing some monster sound effects for the Apotheosis game soon, though I've yet to receive all the details. Sounds like fun! In the mean time, looks like I'll be concentrating on this secretive Fun Station 4 Kidz project. Once that's out in the open, stuff will get a lot clearer! In the mean time, keep your ears open for the BIG announcement (hopefully next week), take care, and as always, thank you for supporting JabunAudio. This week was busy carrying on with more Fun Station 4 Kidz project stuff. I can't expand too much or give an ETA, since we want it to be a surprise, but keep your ears to the ground for the rumble. Something's coming! NO SPOILERS! One awesomely cool thing that happened this week, was my first Skype call with Sheila M. Gagne. I've been working with her pretty frequently for well over a year and yet this is the first time we'd actually spoken outside of emails. It was amazing and cheery (and kinda trippy) to hear her switch between her various voices during our conversation! You can find out more about Sheila on the JabunAudio Partners page. She's awesome! On a completely different note, an amazing musician and friend of mine, Sam Brown (bassist in my very first band, Crow's Wing, and now a professional gigging bassist/vocalist), comes back from his latest 6 month term abroad this weekend, which is gonna be awesome! Much stuff to catch up on! Now he'd probably kill me for sharing this, but here's a playlist of all the songs we wrote (together with my brother Eamon and another awesome friend Andy Gelnar) in our very first band Crow's Wing when we were 14 - 17 years old! On behalf of all the people missing you back here, we love you, Sam! NO SHAME!!! XD He's singing in the last track, "Which Way's South", and it's all FREE to download (if you REALLY want to). Just follow the links in the YouTube descriptions or visit my SoundCloud or Newgrounds page XD So until next week, unless I've been brutally murdered with a hefty 4-stringed instrument, take care and many thanks for supporting JabunAudio. Hope you enjoy the precious gems of my musical youth! |
