Hi everyone and I hope you've had a great week since the last post. It's been intensely busy here at JabunAudio, perhaps the busiest week for a long long time, not that it's been particularly calm for a long time either! Tonnes of amazing news to share in this blog post, which is going to be a long one, so let's dive straight into it!

Firstly and the big news for this week, I'm super excited to finally be able to share both the teaser trailer and the first pre-order track "Diesel Heart" for World Beyond's new (mostly) instrumental alternative metal album "Nobody Asked For This So I Did It"! It's been one heck of a journey being a part of this, and having played lead guitar, acoustic guitar and bass in some combination on 21 out of the 22 tracks for this project, as well as countless hours of listening and consultation on the production, it's undoubtedly not only the biggest musical collaboration I've done with World Beyond, but my biggest musical collaboration to date EVER! A huge thanks to my musical genius friend of almost 6 years now, Vladimir Kuznetsov for having me on board with the project and being my go-to 2nd set of ears on my own music throughout the years! This'll be our 3rd album working together (the last one being Mindshell, just shy of 2 years ago), and here's to big things and the big launch for "Nobody Asked For This So I Did It" this coming Saturday! Super excited times! No doubt the final few days before the launch will be some of the busiest this year, but I've no doubt it'll all be worth it! Can't wait to share the rest of the album with you all next week!

Next this week, yesterday was the final Wednesday of the month which means I've just sent rewards out to the $5+ supporters on Patreon! This time there aren't any main discography tracks, but I do have 3 Better Than The Book bonus tracks (and art) to share which have never been released for download making this the first month of Patreon exclusives!
          First of all, I have a bonus track released for streaming on YouTube last Christmas, an early instrumental demo for one of the upcoming tracks on the new "Hopes & Dreams" album: "Meteor Shower". It's one of the more J-rock inspired heavier BTTB tracks (think Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets meets Zebrahead), and has since been completely rerecorded in the studio for the new album!
          Next a RIP-headphone-users warning for the first (and only (so far)) April Fools Prank from the BTTB YouTube Channel last year, the MajorLeagueGaming edit of last month's track GG [Good Game]: "MLGG". I never put it up for download because it was just too stupid, but as a bonus track, it cannot be denied from the BTTB discography! You can revisit the "official music video" on the BTTB YouTube Channel. Probably best to turn your speakers down... but I hope you share my sense of humour!
           And finally this month I'm presenting this years seasonal bonus track and the first "new" track since I joined Patreon: "Stars Racing"! I wanted to do something different but relatively simple this year while I was busy working on the upcoming BTTB album, and so I thought I'd give this mash-up a try featuring "Hearts Racing" from the Two Years On album (which'll be next month's reward). I won't spoil what the mash-up is, but I hope you get a kick out of it (I thought it worked surprisingly well)! The track will be released on YouTube in a week's time to coincide with the rest of the Patreon rewards, but until then, it'll remain a little secret for the $5+ patrons only!

Finally this week, I've a couple of little updates to share on the upcoming Better Than The Book album. While much of my week has been spent working to finish the lastest World Beyond project, I'm also currently deep into mixing my own BTTB album and as of Tuesday, 3/10 tracks are mixed and in a very good state ready for the final checks when the rest of the tracks are done are done. I'm aiming to have half of the tracks done before the JabunAudio closes for the winter break, but Decemeber's looking to be a very busy month so far, so I'll see how it all goes. More on that in the next blog post when I set my goals for the month!

Next week's looking to be intense with the final preparations for the World Beyond album's release on Saturday, then I've got a few JabunAudio admin things and other beginning of the month duties to attend to before I can get back to mixing the Better Than The Book album. Hi everyone and hope you've had a great week whatever you've been up to! I've actually been away for much of this week (back in my home town for the Australian Pink Floyd!), but as you can probably tell by the title, the rest of my time has been spent mixing the first track of the upcoming Better Than The Book album and things are going very well! A few drafts have been sent out and back with feedback and I think things are just about ready to call done and move onto the next mix. Just waiting for some final blessings, but the sound of the album has been defined now and IMO BTTB, is sounding better than ever! Exciting times!

Apart from that, there isn't really anything else to report this week, but I'll be sure to share more updates as and when I can. The coming week looks like it'll be spent doing any final edits for this mix, then it'll be onto the next one and so on. Hi everyone and looking back it's been a super busy week here at JabunAudio! My time's been spent finishing off a Better Than The Book bonus track for next month's Patreon rewards (all finished now), doing some proof listening for World Beyond's upcoming album, (which is sounding fantastic), and starting the mixing process for my own upcoming Better Than The Book album, which I'm super pleased with so far. I also have a photo to show you, my entry for the Fender Upgrade Contest which is going on until the end of the month. A few cool things to share this week so let's get straight to it!

First of all, some updates on the Better Than The Book album! As mentioned above, I've just started mixing the first track of the upcoming album, and this month, I wanted to take some time to concentrate on just one track to establish a new sound for these new songs, a contrast, but continuity from Two Years On! It's still very much in the pop-punk / ska-punk / J-rock esq genre, but unlike the more atmospheric and natural nature of Two Years On, I want this album to be more in your face and larger than life, and after only 3 days of mixing so far, I'm super pleased with the results! I'm sure I'm on track for finishing this track within the month, and I really can't wait to share this with you all in the new year! Get ready!

Hello everyone and hope you've had a great time since the last blog post. It's been another super busy week for me, first of all in the studio, but then away for a nice (but busy) break in my hometown for family festivities (always fun)! Since I've been away for most of the week, there's really not much to report so this'll be a short one. Let's get straight to it!

First of all, as of Friday, all ten tracks for the upcoming Better Than The Book album "Hopes and Dreams" are finally fully edited, optimised and ready for mixing! Exciting times! Before I can get started on the mixing process though (hopefully at some point next week), I've a fair few things on my to do list I NEED to get done, so the album stuff will have to wait for a few days. I'm very much looking forward to getting started on it when I can though.

Next and finally this week, just a quick notification to say that as of yesterday (the first Wednesday of the month), I've just sent out rewards to the $1 & $2 patrons, mp3s and artwork (and WAVs for the $2 Hi-Fi Pigeons) for Better Than The Book's cover of "Heartbeats" by The Knife, and 2015 collaboration with Jabun "GG [Good Game]". Next this week, some quick updates on the upcoming Better Than The Book album. It's been an intense time since the last post, but as of earlier this week, all 10 tracks are finally fully edited! I'm currently just in the process of freezing down some of the processing ready for mixing, and as of yesterday it's 5 tracks finished with the mix sessions set-up, and 5 left to go. I'm hoping to have them all ready to start mixing by the next blog post. Exciting times!

Thirdly on the news, it's the beginning of another month which means another JabunAudio music production newsletter has been sent out! This month I'll be discussing various methods of recording electric guitar and their advantage/disadvantages before sharing with you my own hybrid recording technique for achieving a great and flexible in the mix guitar tone and performance without potentially annoying your neighbours! Finally for this blog post, it's time as usual to reflect on last month's goals and set some new ones for November. Let's look back at October's goals and see how I did!

​1) Launch and run the promotion plan for the Patreon page
2) Finish editing all the tracks on the BTTB album ready for mixing in November

And I'm pleased to say that I think goal 1) was a big success so far! Great to have the Patreon page finally launched after all this time in the making. Goal 2) is aaaaaaalmost there, but not quite yet... Editing is finished, but only 5/10 tracks are actually ready for mixing at the moment. I'm sure it'll not be long until this goal is completed though!

With that reflection done, let's set some new goals for November!

1) Finish editing all the tracks on the BTTB album ready for mixing
2) Finish the mystery bonus track for Patreon!
3) Make 1 solid mix for the new album

Goal 1) is simply carried over from last month and I don't think that'll take too long. The mystery bonus track in goal 2) I don't think should take too long to finish either, but it does need some attention. Looking forward to sharing that with you all in December as a Better Than The Book Christmas bonus for the year! Goal 3) was an interesting one to think of. I'm away for much of this month as well as being very busy sorting other things, so I'll definitely not be able to finish mixing the upcoming album this month. Ideally I'd like to have all the mixes to a point where I'm sending them out for feedback by the time I close up JabunAudio for the winter break, though I'm not sure if that'll be possible either. With that in mind, I figured it'd be great to get just one great mix sorted for the album this month so that there's a good target to mix all the other tracks too. Anything extra will be a bonus!
