Just another short update today as I was away at the beginning of the week exploring new places and have been taking some time out to study different music in order to broaden my horizons too (mainly Hip Hop and modular synthesis). Just 2 things to report this week but that doesn't make them any less important. Let's get started:
Firstly, Better Than The Book needs your support and votes for a competition by PushPowerPromo. It's a songwriting competition judged on talent/musicality, votes, lyrics, originality and audio quality, and for it, I've entered the "Two Years On" Album! The winners will be announced on June 20th apparently (votes close June 15th), so there's a little while but not too long left to get your votes in and show your support. Prizes include various cash prizes as well as promotional support which would be excellent for growing the project more. Thanks for the support and visit here to place your vote! Next and lastly this week, I've started another service on Fiverr, which is pretty much the same as last week's music feedback service, but this time geared towards animation audio post-production. In short, I'd love to be able to help everyone to make their animations sound amazing, but it's a time consuming task and I can't always be behind the mixer for every project. This service allows people to get feedback on their works so I can advise what engineering changes I'd make if I were behind the mixer, which they can then put into action themselves to improve their sound even when I'm not available. I'm looking forward to working with more people so if you need some animation audio help always feel free to give me a buzz! That's it for this week. There may or may not be an update next week or the week after (probably here next week but not the following week), as I'm away again for much longer. June is set to be a busy away from work month too, so updates will be sporadic over the next month or so, but I'll try to report things when I can. Anyway, thanks as usual for supporting JabunAudio and whether or not I post before May is out, I hope you all have good weeks and see you at some point in June. Take care!

It's been a slow week since the last update as I've not been too well, but there's still a few little things to share. Hope to be well again and back to audio work soon. Let's get started! Firstly this week, I've set up a New Service on Fiverr (the freelance network) which aims to provide feedback for people seeking a second set of ears to assess their mixing, mastering or song arrangement / instrumentation. As the site name suggests, the services starts at $5 and I hope to help people with their work soon. You don't need to have a Fiverr account to take advantage of this offer though, just send me a message and I'll be happy to help. I plan to open a second similar service for assessing animation audio post-production too, and hope to have that up at some point next week. If you're interested, feel free to buzz me or click on the highlighted words above for more details on the service. I look forward to working with you soon. Lastly this week, the final videos from Better Than The Book's "Two Years On" and the Charlotte's Web Orchestral Commissions are now up on YouTube. From Better Than The Book, we have the final track of the album "Confessions" and from Charlotte's Web, we have "A Veritable Smorgasbord Part 2". I hope you enjoy them and thanks to everyone who's been listening these past 3 months. I'm aiming to keep the Better Than The Book Channel active on a weekly basis, so some new things may be heading your way soon (still need to sort that out though). Subscribe to the BTTB YouTube Channel or head over to the BTTB Facebook to keep up to date with everything, and in the mean time, feel free to check out the final videos below. Thanks for watching:
And that's unfortunately all there is to share this week. It's not so fun or productive being ill, but oh well, it happens. I'm away this weekend, but will hopefully be back to it on Monday to take the week by the horns! Until next time, hope you have a good week too and thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio. Take care!
After last month's busy animation schedule (as well as the busy few months before that), this past week has been the quietest it's been in a very long time at JabunAudio! While that means not much audio work has been going on (sad times), it has given me some time to regroup and start planning for new projects which is a plus. Don't worry though, there's still a fair amount of stuff to share this weeks so let's get to it!
Firstly this week, after all the hard work by our wonderful production team, Tales of Zale Episode 2 was awarded not only daily 3rd place, but also weekly 3rd place on Newgrounds! Thanks so much to everyone for their feedback and praise not only on Episode 2 but also all the three Minisodes and Episode 1 as well. If you've yet to watch them head over to Hikarian Animations on YouTube and check them out, and be sure to check out the credits to see everyone who's involved, as we all put our all into each and every animation. Hope you enjoy them! Next on the list this week, now that Tales of Zale Month is over, things are winding down for the project for the moment (certainly on my end), and our excellent director Sif who runs Hikarian Animations put out this really nice heartfelt thanks video to raise awareness of the team behind the animation and thank everyone who was involved, both in the creation, live streams and for watching. It's a really nice insight into how the animation came together in terms of everyone who was involved and I was really chuffed to hear Sif's kind words about my work too. Thanks so much Sif! It was such a pleasure to work with you again and I can't wait to be sculpting the Tales of Zale soundscape again soon. Next we have some more glorious art fromlast Friday's final Livestream of Tales of Zale Month! From Zachary, we have a portrait of our ready-for-the-ring host, Sif "The Rock" Savery (best to watch the Livestream for context on this), and from Victor we have an immense gif of Sif, Nathan and himself (the staple ToZ Month Livestream trio) groovin' in their sweet ride! I believe there is one more picture from the Livestream left to be shared so I hope to share that soon, but be sure to check out last week's post for more ToZ Livestream art gold! These guys are brilliant! ![]() Lastly to report, we have 2 more YouTube videos this week from the Better Than The Book - "Two Years On" and Charlotte's Web Orchestral Commission streams. This week from Better Than The Book, it's the heartfelt "The Bigger Picture", and from Charlotte's Web, we have "A Veritable Smorgasbord Part 1". Hope you enjoy them and next week will actually be the last week for both of these streams so I'm not sure what'll happen next. Be sure to stay tuned to the relevant YouTube Channels to keep in the loop.
And that about wraps things up for this week! I'm not sure what's happening next week as it stands but I'm itching to make some more music so hopefully I'll at least get something started in that department. I'm sure there'll be more to report next week anyhow (there always is!), so until next time, I hope you all have good weeks and thanks as always for stopping by and supporting JabunAudio. Take care! It's been a super busy week doing the final bits of Post-Production and celebration for Tales of Zale Month which has all in all been one heck of a blast! It's a little late, but here's another big blog post with a lot to share so let's get straight to it! Firstly, the thrilling conclusion to this month's weekly animations by Hikarian, Tales of Zale - Episode 2, went live on Thursday and I'm so pleased with the way it turned out! The first few days of this week were a mad blur of audio post-production and late nights for me, but I'm sure the results speak for themselves in this almost 7 minute long stunning animation! There's a lot of people involved in this one, so I shan't name them all here, but be sure to stay for the credits (which features some splendid fan art too) and check the video's description on YouTube to see all the great people who were involved in this project. Without further delay and behalf of Hikarian Animations and the rest of the production team, I present to you the long awaited, Tales of Zale Episode 2. We all hope you enjoy it! Following from the topic of this weeks animation, we look back to celebrate some of the achievements of last week's Minisode 3! As with Minisode 2, Minisode 3 was met with some great feedback and comments on Newgrounds and was given the Daily 3rd place award and a front page feature too! Many thanks Newgrounds and we hope to wow you with Episode 2 when it's released on there soon! Next on this week's list of exciting reports, in celebration of Episode 2's release, I joined the Final Tales of Zale Month Live Stream on YouTube which was blast! Joining us for one final night of mayhem we had the wonderful Sif "The Rock" Savery, Victor and Nathan from the last stream I was in, as well as the animators for each of the minisodes, Zachary, Anita and Dylan! Thanks to everyone who joined us on the night, and if you missed it, feel free to catch up on the almost 4 hours of glorious fun below! The moral of this story is #NevergofullSonic! And of course it wouldn't be a proper Tales of Zale stream without some glorious artwork contributions from our talented panelists! From Nathan we have the undeniable proof of why you must #NevergofullSonic (or why you definitely should!), and from Anita we have a lovely take on Zale and Elva, the dynamic duo of the series. More artwork to come, which I'll hopefully be able to share in next week's update, so stay tuned for more visual shenanigans soon! Lastly and as usual, we have the latest streaming tracks from Better Than The Book and March's Charlotte's Web 1973 Orchestral commissions. This week from Better Than The Book we have the hybrid genre "Head Above Water" featuring the lovely rhyming styles of Bob Axell (AKA Cyberdevil) bringing some Hip Hop to the table, and from the Orchestral Commissions we have an arrangement of "Zuckerman's Famous Pig". Only 2 more weeks of these project streams left to go, but feel free to subscribe to the relevant YouTube Channels to listen as soon as they go live. Stay tuned for more next week!
And that about wraps things up for this week. Tales of Zale Month is over and was great fun while it lasted, and I'm sure this won't be the last we see of Elva, Zale or the rest of their mysterious world! Not entirely sure what's going on next week, but I'm sure there'll be something exciting to report. In the mean time I hope you all have exciting weeks too and thanks for supporting, Tales of Zale Month, Better Than The Book and as always JabunAudio. Until next week and next time, take care. |
