FINALLY I can talk to you about the secret I've been keeping for the last month(ish)! What a load off the mind. Lets get started! The big announcement is that Fun Station 4 Kids is launching its first Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign for a new animated music video and hopefully a corresponding children's book (depending on how much is raised)! For those of you not familiar us, Fun Station 4 Kids is an awesome YouTube channel which creates fun and educational cartoons for children, such as The Dinosaur Alphabet and The Three Little Raptors, and for which I often help with the music and audio post-production. We already have over 5 million views since the whole thing was started in Summer 2013, and would love to bring our fan-base more content and joy! The song/video which the Kickstarter will be funding is about sharing and will feature TRex and his family! We have on the project our usual mastermind and animator Anthony, the great duo of voice actors Sheila and Evan, and of course myself doing the audio post-production and music (a total of 4 of us). As the animators especially among you know, these kind of projects take a whole lot of time, especially when you're working from different time-zones/continents and in small teams where 1 person could be doing the jobs of 5+ people in a professional studio. If we had $1 for every view, that'd be great, but unfortunately that's not quite how it works, and ad revenue alone doesn't nearly begin to equate to the time put into these things (especially with all the ad-blocking apps people are using). We make these animations for the people watching, and to inspire people, but we need help to keep it going. The Kickstarter campaign is set to commence on March 24th (this coming Tuesday) and above are the first two of the promotional posters to give you a taste of what it'll look like! If you like the project, it'd mean the world to me and the other team members if you'd take a moment next week when the campaign starts to spread and share the Kickstarter link to as many people as you can. Tweet it, email it, blog it, Facebook it, any little help would be greatly appreciated and as they say "Sharing is Caring". I'll be sharing the Kickstarter link on the JabunAudio Facebook as soon as it comes out, as well as posting another blog entry here with more details on Wednesday 25th. Stay tuned to the facebook page for more updates (and posters) in the mean time :3 Massive thanks to everyone who's supported the project so far and is helping to spread the word. You guys are awesome! In other news, Fun Station 4 Kids has a new website, which you can visit here. As well as links to our animations, there are also fun things like activity sheets which you can download there, so it's well worth a visit :D Another awesome thing for this week: I finally started working on a follow-up to the Better Than The Book - One Small Step EP! No ETA as of yet, but I've got a 9 track Album(EP?/LP?) planned, and have started brainstorming riffs and getting song ideas together. I hope to have it released before the end of the year, though it depends on work as to when I'll be able to finish it. Hopefully sooner rather than later, as it's been way too long and I'm turbo excited to be recording my own music again! In the mean time, Feel free to check out the One Small Step EP and Heartbeats cover (The Knife), and get ready for some more ska-pop-punky anthems straight from the heart! That's it news-wise for this week. There'll be no update next Saturday since I'm away from the studio, but I'll be posting an update with the Kickstarter links this coming Wednesday instead! So hopefully that makes up for it XD Until then, thanks so much for sharing our Kickstarter campaign and supporting Fun Station 4 Kids, and JabunAudio! Take care world :D
