What a crazy week, and most of it was in the last 2 days! Lots to talk about so lets get started!
Against the order of the title but the first thing to happen this week chronologically, Fun Station 4 Kids has a new Dinosaur animation, which I did the sound design and mixing/mastering for! The new animation features Baby T-Rex, Mini, Ptero and of course the one and only T-Rex, in a riverside lesson about (2D) shapes! The video's already hit over 2000 views on YouTube in its first week, so things are going pretty well! Feel free to watch the video below, and prepare for some intense and colourful knowledge courtesy of Fun Station 4 Kids! Hope you enjoy it :D
Next on the list of what happened this week: There's a new Better Than The Book & Jabun Collaborative track! Is it even possible to collaborate with yourself? Who knows, but this was a complete mishmash of my 2 main musical personalities so it seemed appropriate! A little backstory: my brother sent me over a remix competition with only 2 days until the deadline, and I was thinking, yeah, I fancy the creative break, I haven't done a remix in a while! The competition provided stems to use as you'd like (as long as you do use at least one of them XD), and since I've been working intensely on BTTB, my music brain was (is) still in Pop-punk mode, so the result is the Pop-punk / Chip-tune / Electronic tune: "GG [Good Game]". All of this was written, recorded, mixed, mastered and drawn in less than 36 hours, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out! Feel free to listen to GG below and I hope you enjoy it!
Just for clarification, the above track isn't anything to do with the new BTTB album, it's just a standalone single :3 I'm planning to make it available for download from the BTTB Bandcamp page soon, but that'll be once the competition results have been announced (so probably next week or the next one). I'll announce it in the next appropriate weekly update :3 I also helped my brother with his entry to the competition (recording, mixing and mastering), which has an even crazier origin story, but I'll share that here once the competition result have been announced. Again that'll hopefully be in the next update or the one after that :D
Next, for those wondering why I only used 36 hours of the 2 days available to make GG, on top of helping my bro with his entry in the hours leading up to the competition closing, I had some mastering to do in the morning of the first day. It was another jazz(?) track from Norway, mixed by Mihai Sorohan (The man behind the "TWO" micro-album from a few months back). This track is by Lage Thune, who is drumming on the track. It's cool and experimental! Feel free to listen below and show Mihai and Lage your support :D
Now that covers last weekend + Friday and Saturday of this week! Monday, Tuesday and Thursday were spend doing the usual voice-over work in London, and Wednesday was spent working on other things (Eva (my GF)'s anniversary present and card :D). Not much time for working on the Better Than The Book Album unfortunately, though I hope GG [Good Game] will be enough to tickle your BTTB (& Jabun) taste-buds until it's finished! No London next week (back in 2 weeks), but I'll be busy tying up loose ends before I head off with Eva to spend our 2nd anniversary together in a few days time :D Hopefully I'll have some time to do some Better Than The Book vocals before then. Also, the next Fun Station 4 Kids animation is already in the works too, and I've a voice audition to prepare for some British characters, which should be fun XD It's set to look like a busy week again!
That's it for this week! Next update should be on Saturday as usual, though probably won't be as filled as this one XD. Hope you all have a good week, enjoy the new tracks and as always, thanks for reading and supporting JabunAudio!
