It's been a busy and exciting week at JabunAudio and as usual there's much to share! Along with the main features for this week, I had some time to work on more of the new Better Than The Book album which although going slower than last month is progressing nonetheless. I've finished up 3 lyrics sheets now, with another few well on their way, so it shouldn't be too long until I start the recording process for at least some of these tracks! Exciting times! Lots more to talk about this week so without further wait, let's get straight to the main news!
Firstly, following on from last week's web design adventures, I've done a little more work on the JabunAudio website since the last blog post. I've now added an updated "About" section to the navigation bar above, as well as a revamped version of the old "Partners" page, though since the navigation bar takes up more space than on the old website, I'd decided not to put the Partners page directly on there. Instead there are links to it at the end of the About and Contact pages above. With those 2 pages added, it's just the main services, portfolio and an updated home page left, though I imagine these will take a fair while to set up properly. I also want to add some headers to each page at some point to increase the visual appeal. I'll keep you updated as things progress. Next this week, some more celebrations as "Palindrome" and "Home" from my debut album as Jabun - Daydream were featured on Melody Chillout Music and Premium Music HQ's Facebook and YouTube Channels respectively. Thanks again to both places for helping share my music to more listeners, and if you've yet to hear them, feel free to check out Palindrome, Home and the rest of the Daydream album below. Hope you enjoy it! And speaking of the Daydream album (sort of), on Tuesday this week, it was 808 Day (August 8th), celebrating the Roland TR-808 drum machine, a musical tool which changed music in so many ways since its invention, and my favourite drum machine sound pallet of all time. Linking back to the previous topic, all the main drums on the Daydream album were generated using a software emulation of this magnificent and now very hard to find drum machine, and I'm sure you'll be hard pressed to find a producer who wouldn't want a real TR-808 in their gear arsenal if they haven't already. Well... this year has been an especially exciting 808 day as Roland just announced a compact and faithful digitally modeled re-issue of this classic analog machine with the same sound of the old, but with the modern convenience of the new (like MIDI for one), the TR-08. It's not often I get THIS excited over a new synth or drum machine release but this is something I've been waiting for for a LONG time, and this drum machine has been so important to me as a producer and musician throughout the years! On top of that exciting news though, Roland is also releasing a new sampler and a similar re-issue of their classic SH-101 synth which looks awesome! Exciting times and I can't wait for them to arrive in music shops for me to have play with! Finally, and despite the previous exciting news probably the most exciting, this week I had the pleasure of recording guitar and bass again for the upcoming World Beyond album with my good friend Vladimir Kuznetsov! It feels like a long while since I've recorded with him and as always it's been a great time. No details I can say yet about the album itself or a release date, but I'm pretty sure it'll be out by the end of the year and holy heck I'm looking forward to it! If you haven't heard his stuff before, be sure to check out last years "Mindshell" album (I'm playing guitar on "The Rescue"). Here's a little teaser picture he gave me to share. Get ready for some more amazing music from WB soon! And that about wraps things up for this week! Not entirely sure what next week has in store, but there's the possibility of more guitar recording for the new WB album, more BTTB writing, more website revamping, and some other things in the pipeline. All in all it doesn't look like there'll be time to be bored which is always good! Until then, I hope you all have a great week, thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and the rest of my projects, and see you next time! Take care!
