It's been a super busy week, and JabunAudio celebrates 2 amazing years of business and the blog! Crazy to think it's been this long since I started turning my passion for music and sound into a way to earn money, meet and help some wonderful people around the world, and be a part of projects I never could have dreamed of doing alone! It's been a great 2 years so far and I'm sure many new adventures await in the next years to come! Lots to share this week too, so brace yourself and I hope you enjoy it!
First of all, I'd love to share my first original (non-remix) track as Jabun since 2014: "The Ocean Above". After last week's "(Feels Like) Heaven" remix, I was very keen to make even more electronic music, and a commission request from David Klein II, a good friend and collaborator, meant I had a great excuse to make some more! Not only is the request an electronic track, but it combines 2 genres that I really love and that got me started as Jabun in the first place: Chillstep and Chiptune. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out and I look forward to hearing it in the game review videos it is intended for. If you'd like to use "The Ocean Above" in your productions, please send me a message and I'm sure we can work out something, or if it's just for your own listening pleasure, the track can be purchased onBandcamp for the lovely price of £0.60! Anyways, thanks again to David for commissioning this amazing piece to work on and I hope you all enjoy it: Next this week, I have 2 new(ish) Fun Station 4 Kids animations to show you! These are only labeled as new(ish) as they're alternative versions of some of the animations I've showcased in other recent blog posts. Firstly, we have "The Dinosaur Counting Song", but with an extended lesson walk-through at the end to let the counting sink in, and secondly we have as is tradition, a super speedy version of T-Rex's latest adventure, "3D Shape Crush". Please share these or the originals with anyone you think will enjoy them, and of course head over and subscribe to Fun Station 4 Kids on YouTube to keep up to date with the latest animations and show your support. There are a couple of new animations in the works too (no ETA at the moment), and I certainly look forward to working on them :D Enjoy!
Finally this week, and this came as an amazing surprise, A P O T H E O S I S, a game which I've been doing the soundtrack for released a brand new demo, and it is fantastic! There's still a couple of bugs to fix and of course it's not the full game, but the new demo adds many additional items and power-ups (which are super fun), some amazing updated graphics, sound effects and animation, as well as a peek at the 2nd level which means this is the first demo to feature all the music I've made for the game so far (not including trailer music)! I warn you, it's highly addictive, super fun and will challenge you, but I really recommend giving it a go. The demo is free to download here, so go grab your mouse, enter that ancient temple and see if you have what it takes to become a god! Meanwhile in my contributions to the game, I've been working on the Level 3 music this week which included collating over 1000 samples for a virtual pipe organ! Fun times! In the mean time and in case you're unable to get to level 2 (believe me. it's not easy), you can listen to the latest musical addition to the game here. Hope you enjoy it! That's about it for this week! In other news, I've STILL yet to hear from the OpenLabs / Linkin Park songwriting contest and the wait is killing me, but I'll be sure to let you know any news when I hear it! Plans for next week: I should be continuing with the Level 3 music for A P O T H E O S I S, then heading back to Burgess Hill for the annual bonfire parade. I missed it last year so it'll be great to get all the old friends together again and go see some amazing marching musicians and fire back in my home town (always a highlight on out town's calendar)! Until next week, I hope you have a great time whatever you get up to and thanks for supporting JabunAudio and my collaborative projects for an amazing 2 years! Let's make the next one even better! Hope you enjoy the new tracks, animations and game demos, and take care!
