Hello everyone! Hope you've all had a great week and are enjoying the current stream of Blink-182 covers on YouTube. Due to various reasons, I unfortunately haven't been able to get much audio work done this week, but every cloud has a silver lining and so, I've spent a lot of this down time working on writing for the upcoming Better Than The Book album instead. Just 2 pieces of news to report this week, so let's come back to BTTB in a moment and start off by introducing this week's addition to the Blink-182 covers stream. Here we go! On Wednesday, the second of ten Blink-182 covers I recorded went up on the HurpADervish YouTube channel, and this week I'm super excited to present to you some oldschool pop-punk in the form of "M+M's"! As a reminder of why the sudden YouTube video series, this has all been in celebration of 4 years with my wonderful Girlfriend Eva, and M+M's is definitely one of our favorites! Anyways, I think the video will speak for itself so I'll stop talking for now, but be sure to check in again next week for track 3 "Wasting Time" and I hope you this rendition of "M+M's"! Next and lastly this week, some updates on the new Better Than The Book album. As I'm sure I've already said, I'm currently in the writing stages for this project, more specifically focusing on lyrics, structuring out the track, chord progressions, melodies etc... As of last week it was only 4 tracks left to finish lyrically, but it reality, it was more like: 2 completely structured and most of the instrumental work done but with only partial lyrics, one with very few lyrics and a not quite complete structure, and a final one which was pretty much just some jumbled notes and concepts & riffs but no concrete anything. Well after much deliberation, I decided to put that last track on hold and try pursuing a different song idea instead, which was more of a back-up track if the total album length wasn't fulfilled (over 30 minutes), and I'm so glad I did! Don't you just love it when everything seems to fall into place flawlessly and effortlessly? Months of frustration with the previous track, and within 2 days, this new track was fully structured, had all but a few lines of vocals left, and I was actually super happy with everything. Not only that, but working on that track kicked off my inspiration for the other tracks and while there's still 4 tracks left to finish, the current situation on them all is: 2 tracks almost fully instrumented and only requiring verse lyrics (some partial stuff there), another fully structured now with only some verse and prechorus lyrics to fill in, and this new one which is fully structured and only 5 lines of verses to write! All in all an incredibly productive week in the BTTB writing department, and I think I should be able to make my target of having the entire album written by the end of the year, ready to start recording in 2018! Oh and one final note, my rough song length demos are clocking this album in at about 38 minutes as it currently stands! Hope you're as pumped to hear it as I am to record it and I'll keep you updated with how everything goes as and when! And that about wraps things up for this week. What's in store for next week (apart from the new Blink-182 cover)? Well, I'll be writing more BTTB while the inspirational juices are flowing and I'm unable to get back to other work, but I hope to be back to the usual stuff by the beginning of next week. Other than that, I'll see how things go and act accordingly! Until then, hope you enjoy the latest Blink-182 cover, thanks as always for supporting JabunAudio and my other projects, and see you in the next blog post. Hope you have a great week and take care!

Another great cover! And I actually don't think I'd heard the original before this time, guess I'll be looking up that one next...

Ah man, it's a classic track :D Hope you enjoy the original when you find it (it was a single so the music video will be on YouTube I'm sure), and happy to hear you liked the cover!

For sure, and same here. I know their early work's not everyone's cup of tea since it's a lot more raw, but I think it has a lovely and distinctive charm. Cheshire Cat and Dude Ranch are both very fine albums :D 3/5 (6/10) of the covers I did are actually from these 2 albums :)

Ah man it's all good, though it varies a fair amount in style from album to album (in a good way I think) :) Hope you enjoy them when you hear them!
